Paul Milano has been in the non-profit fundraising and management consulting profession since 1987. He had previously owned his own successful for-profit business in the 1980s. Prior to that he also was in management and sales roles with other for-profit and non-profit organizations.
His professional background has seen him lead fundraising and marketing departments for a large children’s hospital, an environmental organization, a performing arts organization, a university, private and public high schools, as the Senior Director of Development and Marketing Operations at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America at their national headquarters in Atlanta, and as a senior consultant for a national east coast firm. He has helped raise more than 100 million dollars for non-profits over the last 30 years and specializes in capital campaigns, board development, and non-profit management training.
Paul’s background in drum corps began in 1962 as a snare drummer in a small corps in Milwaukee. He marched five years in the Cavaliers in the early 70s as a snare drummer, followed by several years in Midwest senior corps, culminating as a snare drummer in the Cavaliers 60th anniversary alumni corps in 2008.
He held management roles with the Cavaliers, as well as being a member of the board of directors for several years. He was also the manager of the Spirit of Atlanta during their formative years in the late 70s and early 80s and served as the Vice Chairman of their board of directors in the early 2000s.
Paul has provided pro bono fundraising and non-profit management and board development consultation to numerous DCI and DCA corps over the years, and has been an invited presenter to the DCI Consortium.
